A familiar face on White Court

Clutter Cash In is the creation of Canton native Jessica Buffington who has combined her passions for giving new life to used items with the desire to bring an economic lift to her home town in these particularly challenging financial times.   

Jessica says: “This project has always been a dream of mine.  Now, all the pieces of the puzzle have fallen into place and I am so excited to give life to this new concept.”

This isn’t Jessica’s first business in Canton, nor is it her first business located on White Court!  She launched Renew You Massage Therapy in 2005, and while she stepped out of the business in 2010 to move to London, England,  Renew You has carried on as a thriving local enterprise. 

While living in England, Jessica started and built up yet another Massage Therapy business, in the quaint river town of Henley-on-Thames.  She continues to run The Treatment Rooms remotely as she builds up this new endeavor in Canton.   

In Jessica’s own words

“I wrote the business plan for Clutter Cash In just as 2020 started.  I wanted to do something a bit different from what I have always done, which is run Massage businesses.  Unfortunately not everyone can afford the luxury of Massage, and I always felt a bit conflicted about that.  With Clutter Cash In, Canton will now finally have a place where people can take stuff they don’t need or want anymore and end up with something to show for it.  This is something that will help everyone.  And, the icing on the cake is that it helps the environment.  I lived on a boat for my first 8 years in England.  It was a completely sustainable living with solar power and a teeny tiny carbon footprint.  I realized that I couldn’t live like that forever, but I could make a positive change for future generations by using my business skills to keep things out of landfills, and give longer lives to used items.”

A longer life for the things we own

Jessica has been buying and selling second hand items internationally since 1998 and while it has never been her full-time career, she has always found joy in the process.  Now, over 20 years since her journey began, she is applying those skills on a larger scale in a way that helps her home community and benefits the environment. “All of our packaging when we send items out is recycled as well.  Sustainability is in the blood of this business” she says.
